Understanding your needs…
On your first visit to Balance Health Centre you will be asked in detail about your condition and symptoms, your general health and medical history. This information is used to create an individual treatment plan which is tailored to meet your needs. Your Balance Practitioner will advise you as to how many sessions of acupuncture you are likely to need, as this varies from person to person. Your Balance Practitioner will also answer any questions that you may have.
What can I expect from acupuncture?
Acupuncture involves inserting very fine needles at specific points on the body which regulate the flow of Qi. This is usually painless, but if the thought of needles terrifies you, your Balance Health Practitioner can apply pressure to the points on your body using fingers or hands to illicit the same outcome. During treatment we may use massage or moxibustion (a warming treatment using smoldering herbs) and suction (application of suction cups which are applied to the body) to assist your healing process.
And the results…
During treatment many people enjoy peaceful, serene sensations and following each session walk away feeling thoroughly relaxed and rejuvenated.
Advice from Balance Health Centre…
Before having any treatment it is best to have a light meal and it is strongly advised that alcohol is avoided before and immediately after acupuncture. After treatment it is common that you may feel tired and some conditions may feel intensified for a few days afterwards, this is part of the healing process and will lead to stronger improvement.
